About Mark Ashley

Venetian plaster is more than a wall finish,  it’s a craft built on texture, depth and light. For me, it’s also the perfect blend of artistry and precision.

I’m Mark Ashley, a Yorkshire-based Venetian plasterer, working with homeowners and interior designers to create surfaces that feel timeless, tactile and genuinely high-end.

I’ve spent over 20 years in traditional plastering, and for the past five years I’ve specialised in Venetian plaster finishes. Before plastering, I trained in art and photography, and worked extensively with acrylics and printmaking  a background that naturally shaped the way I approach Venetian plaster today. Every wall is treated like a canvas: layered, refined, and finished with care.

Specialist Venetian plaster training & finishes

I completed professional training in Stucco Veneziano, developing specialist techniques across the full range of Venetian and decorative finishes, including:

  • Stucco Veneziano
  • Grassello
  • Textured Venetian plaster finishes
  • High-polish and polished plaster finishes
  • Oxidisation and metallic effects
  • Novo Maranio finishes

Whether you’re looking for a smooth, subtle limestone look, a high-shine polished finish, or a more textured artisan surface, the aim is always the same: a finish that looks exceptional in natural light and stands up to daily life.

If you’re looking for Venetian plaster that feels bespoke, not mass-produced, I’d be happy to talk through your space and what you’re trying to achieve.
